[So Small]

 

I

So Small

it never felt so good
to feel so small

to know
deep down inside
that you are part
of something huge
in motion
in order

because
when you get it
that glimmer of belonging
even if only for an instant
that’s when it hits you:

your whole life
has been leading up to this
and all that pushing and striving
had nothing to do
with getting here

you’ve been on your way here
in spite of yourself

and now
all that’s left for you to do
is throw up your arms
laugh out loud
and say THANK YOU

Mirror

if it’s true
each of us
holds up
a mirror
for others
to see themselves

but we spend
most of our lives
unable
to recognize ourselves

then
my life’s purpose
has never seemed so clear:

I wish to be
the mirror
in which you can see
how truly beautiful
you are
